Trevor Colyer

Trevor really is Taupo's Mr Squash. He plays, coaches and manages squash, lives, breathes and probably even eats SQUASH!

Trevor was a New Zealand Representative from 1970 to 1978 and a New Zealand Masters Representative from 1981 to 2008. He has even achieved internationally. He won the World Masters Squash Championships in 1991 and was the runner up four times. He has also coached and managed the New Zealand under 19 team.

So if you're interested in the inside story of New Zealand Squash, Trevor Colyer is the man to tell it.

You'll often find Trevor at the Taupo Squash Club.

John Reid O.B.E.

Cricketer

Hear John Reid's spin on what it was really like to play in the New Zealand Cricket Team.

John played 59 tests for the New Zealand Cricket Team and captained 34 of them. He also captained the Rest of the World Team. He was a leading force with both the bat and the ball and his aggressive batting would have been ideal in more recent years of the game.

John has also been an ICC Match Referee between 1993 and 2002, has been a mentor to other players and coached in South Africa.

David SteeleTennis Court

David Steele is no stranger to most of us especially where sport is concerned.

In 2009 he gained the Sports Advisory Council Outstanding Contribution to Sport Award and in 2010 he received a fellowship from the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants. As well as running a successful accounting business, David is very involved in community work and is manager to a wide range of sporting coaches including Graham Henry, Todd Blackadder and Steve Hansen. His work in the community has led to the establishment of the Taupo Tennis Club facility, the Great Lake Charitable Hockey Trust and the development of the Taupo Motorsport Park.

"There are no problems, only solutions" is David Steele's motto.
