Eddys Life story Competition

Three schools competed in the library with 8 performances Year 3 and 4 students from local schools presented their versions of how Eddy the Taniwha came to be.

Each group had a maximum 15 minutes to impress the judges who selected one story to be the official tale of Eddy.

Results from our 3 judges are in:

FIRST PLACE:

Taupo Primary School

– Janice Bowman

Good team work, with outstanding illustrations and book presentation. The group gave a creative delivery with instruments and all pupils participating. They provided a rich background of Eddy and his family and the overall story of his love of reading. The amount of work that had gone into this project made it a clear winner.

Also well done to our other entries:

Taupo Primary School – Angie

Great understanding of the process of book making and story telling with lovely language. The class created a neat story that explained Eddy’s background and how he became mascot.

St Patrick’s School – Sue Green

Having a story presented via a different media brought a new dimension. The story was creative and well delivered.

St Patrick’s School – Kate Harlen

Clear presentation and original art work by the team. The story took you on a journey that had a good plot and ended with Eddy as the Library mascot.

Hilltop School – Helen Gibson

Rooms 9, 10, 11, 12 and 15.

As a group the school gave us a variety of individual stories. Each story had its own interpretation and Lilli in particular was very theatrical in her delivery.

We were impressed with the team work of Room 15 and the fact they had chosen to present their story as an ‘acrostic poem’ illustrated with a colourful poster.

Thank you all who participated and came along to support.
