Meetings
Find out what is coming up. Lake Taupo Branch meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of each month, February to November, at the Taupo Public Library at 7.30pm in the "Michael King" room.
Assistance Available
Branch volunteers are on duty at the Library every Monday and Wednesday from 1.00 - 3.00pm. Member volunteers are also available “on-call” outside these hours.
Resources
In addition to Genealogy Resources in the Library, Lake Taupo Genealogy have additional resources including databases, CDs and magazines. These are only available when branch volunteers are on duty. Some of the latest CDs are:
New Zealand Combined Electoral Role 1881 - 93 and 1896
Return of Freeholders of New Zealand 1882
A collection of Lake Taupo Genealogy books are available for loan. They are on the shelves just before you walk into the reference area.
There are also some genealogy books for reference use only in the reference area.

Microfiche
The microfiche is available on a key system any time the library is open. Just ask at the reference desk to sign for a key. Microfiche includes:
- New Zealand Births, Death, Marriages and Cemeteries.
- Scotland and Other International Genealogical Index.
- NZ Biographical Dictionary.
- Locality Catalogue.
Magazines
Magazines are on the wall near the front entrance. Genealogy titles are:
- Family Tree Magazine.
- Practical Family History.
- The New Zealand Genealogist.
- New Zealand Memories.
Genealogy Books
Books on genealogy can be found in the:
- Adult Non-Fiction Collection.
- NZSG Lending Collection (On shelves outside Reference Area).
- Family History Reference Collection.
Genealogy Websites
Ancestry.com gives access to 910 million searchable history records. You can only access Ancestry for free in the library. So come on in and visit Ancestry.com.
NZ Electoral Rolls 1853 – 1981
Free access is only available in the library.
NZ, Maori Voter and Electoral Rolls
1908 & 1919 - Free access is only available in the library.
