Engineers in Taupo to visit state of the art facilities

Disposal of waste is one of Council’s key roles and a very important process from an environmental and lake protection perspective.  The engineers will be discussing leading edge technologies and methods for disposal of treated waste to land and how it can be done smarter and in a sustainable manner.

On Friday, conference attendees will be visiting various sites around the district including the Taupo wastewater treatment plant corn bed trials, Rakanui effluent disposal site, the new View Road effluent disposal site, the Motutere plant and the Turangi wastewater treatment plant to see how Taupo District Council manages wastewater disposal and the extra measures put in place to ensure the protection of Lake Taupo.
