District Plan updates seek public input

Planned changes to fine tune the Taupo District Plan have been approved by Council.  Plan Change 26: Code of Practice Alignment and Plan Change 27: Minor Amendments are now out for public submission.

Plan Change 26 aligns the District Plan with the recent Code of Practice review.  Changes deal with engineering type standards such as earthworks, vehicular access, and stormwater on private property, as they relate to managing environmental effects of subdivision and development. 

Plan Change 27 sees a number of improvements and clarifications to the District Plan designed to improve the administration and operation of the document.  These include removal of the Financial Contributions section, mapping corrections, minor alterations to wording, revised definitions, schedule amendments and reformatting of identified rules in the Residential, Rural and District Wide sections to clarify understanding. 

Council has now adopted Plan Change 26 and Plan Change 27 for notification, which is available for public submission.
