The new look, bright blue bus - the Taupo Connector - has arrived and is now on the road.
Taupo District Council and Environment Waikato recently undertook a review of the local bus service – the Taupo Connector – incorporating feedback from various groups and bus users. One of the outcomes of this review was the introduction of a new and improved bus route in February 2009 which caters for residents in Waitahanui, Five Mile Bay and Acacia Bay. Stage two of the upgrade included getting a new, more accessible bus which would travel around Taupo streets a little easier and better accommodate pushchairs and wheelchairs.
Council acknowledged the importance of keeping the service affordable so the fares have remained the same as before.
