Broadlands Road Resource and Recovery Park and District Transfer Stations

Taupo District Council oversees the landfill and transfer station operations in the six locations seen below. All facilities are closed on Christmas Day and Good Friday.

Broadlands Road Resource Recovery Park is located approximately three kilometers north of Taupo on Broadlands Road		 From 1 September to 30 April Monday to Friday - 8.00am to 5.30pm
Weekends and public holidays -8.00am to 6.00pm except Christmas Day & Good Friday

Turangi Transfer Station

Turangi Transfer Station is located in Tukehu Street, Turangi		 From 1 September to 30 April Monday to Sunday including public holidays (except Christmas Day and Good Friday) - 8.00am to 5.30pm
From 1 May to
31 August		 Monday to Sunday including public holidays - 8.00am to 4.30pm

Kinloch Transfer Station

Kinloch Transfer Station is situated in Whangamata Road		 From 1 May to 30 September Tuesday to Friday - 11.00am to 1.00pm
Saturday and Sunday - 11.00am to 3.00pm
From 1 October to 31 April Tuesday to Sunday - 11.00am to 3.00pm (excluding Good Friday)
Peak Summer – Monday to Sunday from the third week of December until the second week in January – 10:30am to 4:30pm (excluding Christmas Day)

Omori/Kuratau Transfer Station

Omori, Kuratau Refuse Transfer Station is situated in Te Puke Road, Omori
 Christmas school holiday period (secondary schools) Monday to Sunday including public holidays (except Christmas Day) - 9am to 4.30pm
Other school holiday periods (secondary schools) Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays (except Good Friday) - 11:00am to 4:30pm
All other periods Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday, public holidays - 11am to 4.30pm

Whareroa Transfer Station

Whareroa Refuse Transfer Station is situated in Whareroa Road		 From 1 June to
31 August		 Sunday and public holidays – 11.00am to 3.00 pm
From 1 September to 31 May Wednesday, Sunday and public holidays 11.00am to 3.00 pm (excluding Good Friday and Christmas Day)
Peak Summer – Monday to Sunday from the third week of December until the second week in January – 11.00am to 3.00pm (excluding Christmas Day)

Mangakino Transfer Station

Mangakino Transfer Station is situated on the corners of Waipapa Road and Lake Road		 All Year

Monday to Friday including public holidays from 12.30 pm to 4.00 pm.
Saturday & Sunday 8am-12pm & 12.30 - 4pm

Holiday periods Open public holidays except for:
Closed on New Years Day & Christmas Day

Charges at Broadlands Road Resource Recovery Park

Charges for disposal at Broadlands Road are based on weight. Load composition will be assessed on arrival at the site.

Mulch, Compost and Shredded Greenwaste

All transfer stations and Broadlands Road Resource Recovery Park accept greenwaste for recycling.

Taking of shredded green waste from the transfer stations is free but there is a charge (see below) for mulch and compost at the Broadlands Landfill. Sales contacts on site are Bill Te wake 021 12713531 or Peter Nielsen 021 78 6867.

Mangakino provides a delivery service for a fee of $10.00 per truckload.
