Civil Defence Response Team Volunteers

In June 2004 The Taupo District Council Emergency Response Team became registered as NZ-RT6.

Together with operational deployments, the team has formed close working relationships with the Police and Fire Service in the local district and in neighbouring towns and cities.

The Taupo Emergency Response Team is a team of volunteers from the community and is trained in Rope rescue, Flood and Storm Response and Emergency Community Welfare.
This involves a weekly training evening, some unit standard courses and a yearly "Boot Camp" weekend.
The team is expected to respond, when requested, to emergencies and commit their time and energy to this valuable community resource.
